Community 03:02
COMMUNITY I caught a feeling of community last night There's strength in shared responsibility And now we're older, wiser fools. Ticking over in isolation and getting stronger day by day Now the gulf is there for all to see. You don't know me. You don't move me. You don't deserve a second glance. I don't trust you. You know nothing. You can't tempt me now. One time I thought I'd lost them, But they're calling me again. And now I know they never went away. Sometimes when you're in so deep You lose an impartiality And you're talking just to hear your voice. I caught a feeling of community last night There's strength in shared responsibility And now we're older, wiser fools. Ticking over in isolation and getting stronger day by day Now the gulf is there for all to see. You don't know me. You don't move me. You don't deserve a second glance. I don't need you. I don't read you. You can't tempt me now.

LOST YOUR WAY When you fall it's no surprise You go down in flames. When you're so extreme It always ends the same. You'd take the time to work it out if you had a brain. Lost your way. Won't get back. Lost your way. Can't get back.

Ego-Central 02:25
EGO CENTRAL It's hard times at ego central these days. Scant reminders, watching re-runs of the glory days. Now you're not worth recognising. And though you're walking tall, looks like you're hiding I've had enough of your small mind, small world. Had enough of your stale social whirl. Stuck in the 80's with all your fantasies And in springtime you're a tree with no leaves. You don't need to do it this way. You don't need to act at all. Playing to a crowd that stood and left. You don't need to act at all. You're bringing us down with everything you do.

J. Edna 00:52
J. EDNA Doing it to you for the good of the country Watching you everywhere This is security National Security This is to show we care. He was feared and he was mean Decided what was deemed obscene. He had eyes in every wall And a million ears to hear it all. And if you think you're in the clear, You'd better like a gamble. Edgar J. coming at you With the scandal.

I WISH I SMOKED Robin's on T.V. He's short of cash again And I know how he feels. Just played our new L.P. It sounds a bit too clean. I guess it's getting easy. Sometimes I wish I smoked To relieve this tension. And Robin's just like me. I'm glad I'm not alone. It doesn't make things easy. I'm not a teenage fool. I'm older I'm too cool. Won't get into bed with you.

The Second King Of Opium Peter Bourne - aide to US President Jimmy Carter: "It's unthinkable that any representative of this administration would negotiate with representatives of insurgent groups opposed to the legitimate government of Burma, much less use the American taxpayers' dollars for a programme that would, in effect, provide a subsidy for narcotic traffickers and arms for an insurrection." Narrator: And so the United States rejected the 2nd King of Opium's offer and was about to give $80 million of military aid to attack his convoys. And the principle losers? Who else but the Shan people and the world's addicts. [From the TV documentary, "The Opium Kings", written and directed by Adrian Cowell. May 1996]
